What is Garuda?
Garuda is a sacred mythical bird that changes shape according to its function. Just as we change each day and ask our bodies to move in all directions. It’s a fitting name for this exercise method, which is unique in its versatility, flexibility and precision of movement. We introduced the Garuda method to NJ from across the pond (LONDON) in 2013 and has since been a staple for many of our clients wellness program.
Garuda’s results are striking.
Increased strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance, with a greater sense of ease and well-being. Garuda offers a cardiovascular workout while drawing deeply on mental focus, and teaching the sacred principle of relaxation within movement. The result is a stronger, leaner body, improved posture and true ease of movement and mind.
The Garuda is unique in its own right. It extrapolates principles from Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, and dance yet it is NOT a fusion practice. The movements focus on releasing and easing your muscles and fascia (more about the fascia later…). By working in this organic movement pattern your body not only feels like it is stretched and lengthened, but you are stronger, bolder, and have confidence like never before. You are able to discover how your body moves in multiple dimensions and directions. This releases deep energy channels while building muscle, enhance cardiovascular endurance, and eases your mind.

Our Garuda sessions in NJ are designed to be challenging and fun. The syllabus is so broad in scope the routines range from beginner/elementary to advanced/professional. Classes are mixed level for now so you can work at your own fitness level. Modifications and challenges are offered. What is so fascinating about garuda, is that even in the simplest exercise there is always more to discover about your body. There really is no limit to practicing the Garuda method. You will always learn, move, grow, and feel amazing.
