What is Pilates?

#livenow #feelmore @sentirsipilates

Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates in 1926, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. Pilates can be done by anyone and can be modified for any medical condition and fitness level under careful supervision and execution.  The top benefits of doing Pilates exercise is to become stronger, longer, leaner, and more able to do anything with grace and ease.

At Sentirsi Studio, we use proven Pilates disciplines and various movement methods to strengthen, lengthen, and correct imbalances in your body.  We apply over 30+years of experience in the world of athletics, therapeutics, and fitness to challenge and reshape you.  Most importantly we provide a safe, welcoming, and positive environment filled with joy and community.

"Through the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning this unique trinity of a balanced body, mind and spirit can ever be attained. Self-confidence follows.” ~Joseph Pilates

Wait.. There is equipment???

YES!  At Sentirsi we are mostly equipment based. The apparatus provides you with the support and stability needed while gaining strength, flexibility, & mobility in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. The apparatus uses a series of springs and pullys to create resistance in order to further challenge or assist you in each movement pattern.

If you have every tried Mat Pilates {with or without props} and your back hurt or you just felt it "wasn't hard enough", then the equipment is really what you need.  In fact, Mat Pilates is very difficult because you have to use your own body weight to support & execute the precise movements.

Our expertise is to guide you through precise movement patterns while encouraging you to explore the feelings and sensations your body exhibits.  This process enables you to move efficiently, effectively, and with ease in all you do.
